The “Gray House” opened it's
doors in 1997 on a quiet street near Angle Lake. The home
was updated again in 2004. The oak kitchen and dining area
are the most notable features of the house. This and a short
walk to the lakefront park.
The home has four bedrooms
each with all new furnishings, window treatments and carpet. The family room is comfortable with seating arranged to
promote interaction. Family time can be private; but most
times, bonds are forged that include all the residents.
The backyard is filled with
trees and is enhanced by a huge deck. Flowers are everywhere
on the deck and the bird feeder adds interest for everyone. Summer days are enjoyed in the shade of the tent canopy.
Deb, the primary caregiver,
came to this work because of her love of the elderly and her
feelings of enrichment gained from caring for them. It
doesn’t take long for the trust between caregiver and loved
one to be appreciated. She forms a special bond with each
person. Activity is enhanced when Barbie, the small Westie
puppy, comes to visit. She is a whirlwind and clearly a
favorite with all of the clients.
